DuoHuMaIn (Duolabs Human Machine Interface) is an ultra-compact, highly cost-effective control board designed for HMI and IoT applications. It natively connects to capacitive touch displays of 2.4″, 2.8″, 3.5″, 4.3″, and 5.0″, providing a complete platform for modern, responsive graphical interfaces.

The DuoHuMaIn board supports all display types: SPI, parallel interfaces in the style of I-8080, and RGB.

The board handles panels with typical 320×240-class resolutions up to larger formats, ensuring smooth GUI rendering and precise touch experience thanks to the integrated capacitive controller.

DuoHuMaIn integrates Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for reliable connections both on local networks and to mobile devices. Bluetooth enables pairing with smartphone apps for telemetry, configuration, and control.

Firmware updates can be performed directly via Wi-Fi OTA (Over-the-air), reducing maintenance time and service costs, with secure procedures and controlled versioning.

The platform includes a fully integrated Graphical User Interface (GUI). Duolabs also provides all the necessary tools for interface development (editor, asset pipeline, examples, and SDK) and, on request, supports the customer with knowledge transfer and customization.

The board enables interfacing with networks and external devices via RS-485 and the ModBus protocol, as well as connection to various types of sensors and to multicolor LEDs for local visual feedback.

DuoHuMaIn’s optimized design reduces footprint and simplifies integration into finished products, electrical panels, and embedded equipment, while maintaining excellent thermal dissipation and clean wiring.

In this case, the module was developed for a Bluetooth Low Energy thermometer that communicates with a power board installed in a coffee machine.
